What counts as a governed write?
A tool call that changes state upstream — anything gated behind a write grant — and actually executes. Reads are never metered, on any tier.
Do denied calls count against the quota?
No. A call the policy gate denies — missing grant, over a constraint, write freeze — never reaches the upstream service and never counts. Dry runs don't count either. Only writes that execute upstream are metered.
What happens when I hit the Free tier's cap?
Writes pause: the gateway denies them like any other policy decision, and each denial lands in the audit log with the reason. Reads continue unmetered. Upgrade to Pro, or wait for the next monthly cycle. Pro has no cap.
What does fair use mean on Pro?
Unlimited means unlimited for agents doing real work — we don't count your writes or bill by volume. Fair use exists only to stop pathological automation (a runaway loop hammering an upstream API), and your own velocity constraints usually catch that first. If a fleet routinely needs six-figure monthly write volume, that's a Team conversation.
Is any safety feature paywalled?
